1889 Imperial Russian Finland Pendant Locket 18K Gold Diamonds Rubies / 6.5gr
A ntique Finish / Imperial Russian period Pendant / Locket made of solid 18K Yellow Gold with. Openwork Diamond Star in Silver clusters surrounded with border of Rubies.
Streamlined body - friendly design. Tightly closing halves with two internal removable Rose Gold bezels inside with original glass plates.
Original photo of the previous owner. In fine used condition, no punctures, very minor dents and scratches. Engraved monogram on the back side, dated 3/8 32. XIX cent hallmarks of Grand Duchy of Finland that existed.
Existed between 1809 -1917 being an autonomous part of Russian Empire. That autonomy even allowed Finish goldsmiths to hallmark Gold and Silver items using different and special Finish hallmarking standards. Maker's marks not clear to read. Year hallmarks H4 = made in 1889.
(Btw , 1889 was the year when Russification policies were enacted which saw the introduction of limited autonomy and reduction of Finnish cultural expression and caused some tensions). Dimensions : pendant without bail measures 17 mm x 17 mm x 11 mm deep. Silver Star is Ø 10 mm wide.
All diamonds of old European diamond hand -cut type. Larger diamond in the center Ø 3.5 mm / 0.17ct , four around Ø 2.5 mm / 0.06ct each. Numerous kare cut Rubies Red Rubies, all in place. Note: this pendant sell without chain. Other pendants on the last image will not be included/ sell separately.
