V ery unusual old signet ring featuring the crowned double - headed Russian eagle holding Scepter and Globus cruciger in his claws - a main element of the coat of arms of the Russian Empire between 17211917. The Eagle measures 12 mm x 11 mm was cut, hand - engraved and attached to the frame over the plate of plate of black Onyx stone 15 mm x 13 mm. Apparently Russian made before the revolution of 1917. Unisex type, for Men or Women if the size is right. No hallmarks (likely lost during resizing in the past).
All metal parts tested solid 18K Yellow Gold. Size Ø 5.25 US / 15.9 mm. It was sized before and can be sized again. Wear to engraved elements, minor scratches. Small chip on the girdle of the stone.
