Antique Imperial Russian Bangle Bracelet Gold Diamonds Faberge Workman (6993). This product data sheet is originally written in English. Petersburg by Samuel Arndt who was currently supplying Faberge with jewelry. Late 19th to early 20th century.
Measurements: Weight is 43.6 grams. Width is 2cm (a little over 1 3/4inches). Outer circumference is 7 3/4 inches (19.5cm) - slightly less on inside.
The top, visible half with raised lettering in moulded gold and diamonds with poetic message in Cyrillic that translates to "The Lord is my Hope". Beautifully made and very elegant.The maker was a supplier to Faberge and the bangle reflects the ultimate quality and delicacy of the name. Hinge on one side and tongue-in-groove clasp. Also has a gold safety chain for additional security.
A native Russian speaker/reader, told me that at least one of the letters of the raised phrase has not been used in the Russian alphabet for over 100 years.
