Antique Imperial Russian bracelet bangle from the Romanov era and reign of Nicholas II. 14k gold and cabochon sapphires. Made in Russia, early 1900's. Measurements: Weight is 18.6 grams. A little over 7 inches (19cm) long. Description : Beautifully made bracelet with strong Art Nouveau overtones. Openwork gold links in a foliate pattern. Each link is accented with a small round cabochon sapphire. The invisibe links are set with larger, oval cabochon sapphires. Sapphires of a lovely dark blue. Elements of the links overlap one another in typical Nouveau style. Gold safety chain for additional security. Russian hallmarks used during the late Imperial period (1908) until 1927, on one side of the tongue and French hallmark on the other. The Russian marks include the shovel mark for small items and a maker's mark in Cyrillic.

The shovel contains an illegible number that indicates the weight of the item. Followed by a woman's head facing right and wearing a kokoshnik, which was used between 1898 and 1927. 56 is the Russian mark for 14k gold - the fineness of the item and finally, a Greek letter that indicates the assay office. The other side of the tongue has a French shell mark, indicating 14k gold. A marks on the loop of the safety chain include the shell for 14k gold (France) and other tiny symbols.

Side of some links have hallmarks that are worn and barely visible. Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
