The set was made at the legendary Imperial Porcelain Factory, which was opened in the second half of the 18th century, in accordance with the old production methods of the company. This fine delicate porcelain is a more brilliant white than the usual kind, and thin almost to the point of being translucent. From its first porcelain bear, hand-made by the inventor of Russian porcelain, Dmitry Vinogradov, the factory has continued the tradition of creating life through porcelain. Durning the Soviet time the factory became known as the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ). In 2005, Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was renamed to its pre-Soviet name, the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory (IPM). Standards of excellence set by Lomonosov sculptors, such as B.
