Russian Antique Mine Diamond Pyrope Almandine Garnet Brooch 14K Imperial 56 This beautiful brooch will make the most luxurious of gifts. Crafted in 14K yellow gold, it is marked 56 (Russian 14K gold mark) and maker's initials, that appear to be FK. We sent the brooch to Christie's and initially they thought it was Karl FABERGE (F K), but then decided it is another Russian Master Goldsmith. There is a genuine natural purple cushion cut Pyrope Almandine Garnet, measuring 11.3mm x 9.4mm, estimated to be 4.5 carats gem. Beautiful color, very sparkly and no scratches.
There are are 44 old mine cut diamonds. They are white and fiery, VS2-SI1 in clarity and HI in color (near colorless). Total diamond weight is about 1.90 carats, perhaps full 2 carats. The brooch measures 38.14mm (1.5) x 20.6mm. The weight is nice a heavy 10.6 grams.
